2. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the website, we collect the data shown in the form, together with the IP address and the browser string to help detect spam.

An anonymous string (hash) is also generated from your email address and may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you are registered. Its policy is at automattic.com/privacy (opens in a new tab). Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible.

3. Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid including location data (EXIF GPS), as other users could download them and extract that information.

Comments: they are kept indefinitely, together with their metadata.

Registered users: we store their personal profile, which they can edit themselves (except the username). Administrators can also edit it.
